Research Interests

We explore the origins and dispersal of domestic animals and their interaction with people over their entire evolutionary history. We focus primarily on characterising the genomes of ancient individuals of dogs, pigs and chickens, but we also work on rats and cats and their microbes, as well as a wide range of other domestic animals and their wild counterparts. Our lab is the PalaeoBARN which includes Oxford's ancient DNA laboratories and we would love to host PhD students who are interested in the generation of ancient DNA datasets and their bioinformatic analyses alongside modern genomics.

Qualifications and experience

I teach undergraduates and masters students and run a lab of 10 people with PhDs and postdoctoral fellows.
