Novel Sensors

A key requirement for maintaining environmental quality, particularly in remote areas is real time in situ measures of environmental stresses. It is now possible to develop sensors for specific stressors (metals, organics, toxicants) and provide continuous, long and large distance monitoring.  In this way response to accidental events can be responded to more rapidly.
